Leveling Up with The Craft Academy

As a veteran teacher, I obviously value education and really don't feel complete unless I am taking some sort of class. As much as I love being a teacher, I love being a student even more. So when Rosie Chhun of The Wander Crafter reached out to me on Instagram last fall about an opportunity to learn from her and be a part of her first cohort of The Craft Academy, it didn't take me long to decide I wanted to be a part of it. I admire Rosie and her work so much and after a couple of one on one conversations, I knew that the course and her guidance were exactly what I needed to help me take Letters from Elliott to the next level. What I didn't know, was how quickly things would change for the better - starting with my mindset and when I tell you it changed my life and my business - it really did.

Even though I have officially been working at Letters from Elliott for three full years, I still have a lot to learn about owning and operating a business - especially one in the creative realm. I am proud of what I have done with my business up until now, doing everything on my own and learning as I go. If I am being honest though, I felt stagnant and found a lot of different reasons to not do what was necessary to take Letters from Elliott where I truly wanted it to go. With Rosie's guidance and the support of my amazing classmates who are fellow calligraphers, I was able to determine the reasons I do calligraphy, the reasons I want to continue to grow my business and my mindset completely shifted. From being more intentional with my time to setting lofty yet attainable goals, my new way of thinking about Letters from Elliott feels different but so positive. I am already reaping the benefits from this shift in mindset and I cannot wait to see what the rest of 2021 holds for me and my business.

We are finishing up our sixth week of classes and I can't believe how quickly the time went by. I have gotten so much out of my time at The Craft Academy and feel so honored to be a part of such a talented and amazing group of entrepreneurial women. In these six short weeks I have not only learned how to grow my business but I gained an incredible mentor in Rosie and ten new friends. If you are a creative who is looking for support in growing your business, I highly recommend The Craft Academy with Rosie. What this course has done for me and how I think about my business is truly incredible and the future is looking bright for Letters from Elliott!

My cat Pete is such a studious boy! He attended all the Sunday classes with me and learned a lot from Rosie and the girls too. In reality, he just likes the heat that comes from my laptop and loves to nap there and get in my way while I am working.
