Well hello there! It has been quite a while since I sat down to write a blog post. Have you ever had something on your to-do list for more than a year? I have - and sadly it is not just blogging but a variety of different things -work, personal, and otherwise that just keep getting written and rewritten each week in my planner. I suppose it's a priority thing but it is annoying and overwhelming nonetheless. After some recent inspiration and a much needed kick in the butt, I have been working on a lot of new things for Letters from Elliott and I am committing to blogging at least once a week - it helps me so much with organizing my thoughts and keeping my priorities in check and making blogging a priority. Plus, it doesn't hurt to get as much traffic to my website as I can. SEO is the bain of my existence but I will persevere.

I truly enjoy writing and I have a whole list of topic ideas I would like to blog about with the intention of not only expressing myself but hopefully including content that might help or inspire others who may relate. While most of my posts will be centered around my business and the creative industry I am a part of, it is my hope that what I have to say may be applicable amongst more than just artists. I am currently midway through my sixth year (officially) in business and have learned so much through other creatives and business owners who have so graciously shared their knowledge, including their struggles, with their followers and I hope to do the same in at least some small way.

Since my last blog post, I have been busy and have been granted some incredible opportunities. I now have over 160 different hand lettered products for sale on my website and have shipped those products to at least 37 states and 10 different countries. I currently have wholesale products in over 29 retail locations all over the US. I have designed, written, and illustrated my own calligraphy workbook that I use when teaching classes but has also been a successful seller on my website. I have worked on and completed 2 different murals and am currently planning another. I have now designed over 5 different hand lettered tattoos. It is just crazy to me that someone would choose to have my lettering on their body for the rest of their lives - what an honor! I have worked at live on-site events for several well-known brands including engraving liquor bottles for Jefferson's Bourbon and DÚSSÉ Cognac, bottle painting for Freixenet Sparkling Wine, live calligraphy at an Ashley Furniture grand opening event and perfume engraving for Nordstrom - talk about living the dream. I have created business logos for 6 local business and one non-profit organization that I am very proud of. Most recently, I just returned from Las Vegas after attending The Craft Academy's First Annual Mastermind Retreat - and holy cow, what an incredible experience. Stay tuned - I cannot wait to share with you what I learned!
